Overview:
The purpose of this training is to update the laws pertaining to confidentiality, privacy, and privileged communication. Participants will gain an understanding of the ethical implications and exceptions to maintaining confidentiality, to include a better understanding on the updated information regarding the 42 CFR Part 2.
Facilitator:
Dr. Isaiah Moreno is the current Chief Psychologist of the Mental Health Unit at the Oahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC) in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has been working with substance use and SPMI populations for nearly a decade. He graduated from the Hawaii School of Professional Psychology Program at Argosy University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Dr. Moreno has worked in a number of clinical settings providing treatment for substance use disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and working with the full range of the psychiatric spectrum. In addition, he has been teaching as an adjunct faculty member for Argosy University's MFT graduate program teaching courses in substance abuse counseling, couple's counseling, and family therapy courses.
Target Audience:
Certified Substance Abuse Counselors (CSAC), and other ADAD professional credential (CCJP, CSAPA, CCS).
