Overview: This 2-day CMCA Overview Training covers the fundamental strategies of CMCA, including community-organizing tactics that lead to localized policies and ordinances addressing youth access to alcohol. CMCA is a nationally recognized program that uses community-organizing strategies to reduce youth access to alcohol by changing community policies and practices. CMCA is listed on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP). Presenting will be Patricia Barahona - Chief People Officer, and Wendy Pacheco – Program Coordinator, both with the Youth Leadership Institute. This training will be focused on fundamental strategies of mobilizing communities and coalitions against underage drinking.
Audience: Open to youth serving organizations, substance abuse prevention professionals, adult stakeholders, and organizations with interest in substance abuse prevention.
