Tri-Isle Prevention Network Meeting: What You Need to Know About Kratom

Cost: Free
Certificate: 3 continuing education hours (CE) for Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), pending ADAD approval.

Learning Objectives Include:
- Understanding the history of kratom
- Understanding how kratom is used and its impact on the body
- Explore the rise in popularity of the drug in many parts of the country
- Discuss how to assess this emerging trend as part of your work in prevention
Target Audience:
Substance misuse prevention providers, in-school and after-school prevention programs, youth center staff, school personnel addressing substance misuse issues, community coalition members addressing substance issues, school resource officers, and other youth-serving organizations with a stake in substance misuse prevention.
This is a county-wide meeting, and individuals from Moloka‘i, Lana‘i, and Hana areas are encouraged to attend. There are travel scholarships available for individuals traveling from these areas.
